Memorial Biography

Phillip James (Phil) Cooper, after 93 years of life, left this earth to be with his Loving Father and dear son, Phillip, who he joined in heaven on December 3, 2012.

Phillip Cooper was a veteran of the Army Air Corp in WW II and was proud to have served our Country.

As a founding member of St. Bernard of Clairvaux Catholic Church in East Dallas, he humbly served his Parish, sat on many Boards, participated as a Sunday Usher, and was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus.

Phillip was presented the Holy Trinity Medal of Honor in 1966 by Bishop Thomas K.Gorman of the Dallas-Ft. Worth Diocese.

In 1975 Phillip received the Eddie McKevitt Award from the Serra Club of Metropolitan Dallas.

Phillip worked for Ford for over 40 years, winning the prestigious Grand Master Award and one of the few men in the nation to win the Ford Century Club Award.

This would have been the 71st anniversary with his loving wife Jeanne. They had many wonderful adventures traveling all 48 States & 5 Provinces of Canada.

Family was always the most important and happiest part of life and Phillip loved and cherished his wife, four sons Ron (wife Kathy), Phillip, Mike (wife Jean), Mark (wife Lynn); daughter Susan; grandchildren Heather, Nathan (Lynn), Clayton (Pamela), Mike (wife Rebecca), Chris, and Phillip; and four great-grandchildren Dominic, Jacob, Grayson and Magnolia Rose.

Phillip will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and avid hunter and devoted Texas Ranger Fan!  His humor, loyalty and unconditional love will remain in our hearts forever.

A Rosary will be held at Sparkman-Crane on Monday evening and funeral services will be held on Tuesday at St. Bernard of Clairvaux Catholic Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Bernard of Clairvaux Catholic Church in memory of Phillip James Cooper.
